Biography & Introduction

Changlin TIAN received his B.S. degree in biochemical engineering and applied electronic technology from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1995, his M.S. degree in Molecular Biology from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1997, and his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biophysics from Florida State University/National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in 2003. Subsequently he pursued a three-year postdoc as a research fellow in biochemistry at Vanderbilt University. Following his postdoctoral work, in 2007, Changlin joined University of Science and Technology of China as a professor. In 2009-2014 and 2020-present, Changlin was appointed as vice director of High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Interests

  1. Methodological development, equipment development and application research of protein dynamic properties based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron spin resonance (ESR), fluorescence (FLIM) and other spectroscopy methods
  2. Methodological development, equipment development and basic research of "electrobiology" for biological systems based on high-field/low-temperature/time-resolved electron spin resonance (ESR)
  3. Development of methods for efficient preparation of post-translationally modified proteins based on chemical total synthesis, bio-chemical semi-synthesis and other large molecular weight proteins, equipment development and research on the structure and epigenetic mechanism of nucleosomes containing post-translationally modified histones
  4. Screening/modification/optimization of peptide drugs targeting ion channels and GPCR receptors, and research on the development of peptide drugs such as pharmacokinetics and pharmacokinetics
