Professor of Physics
Condensed Matter Physics (Experiment)

Introduction

Dr. Zhe Qu received his double B.S. degrees in Material Physics and Computer Science and Technology in 2001, and his Ph.D. degree in Condensed Mater Physics in 2006 (supervisor: Prof. Yuheng Zhang), all from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). After a two-year postdoctoral fellow working at Tulane University (supervisor: Prof. Zhiqiang Mao), he started his independent research career at USTC as an associated professor. At the end of 2009, he moved to Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as an associate professor at High Magnetic Field Laboratory (CHMFL). He was promoted to a full professor in March 2015. He is a member of YIPA-CAS since 2011 and served as the Editorial Board member of Analysis and Testing Technology and Instruments since 2019.
With funding supports from NSFC, MOST and CAS, Dr. Qu has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers mainly including Nat. Commun., Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. B/Mater., Appl. Phys. Lett. and ACS Nano etc.

Research Interest
Dr. Qu’s research interest is novel magnetic materials, such as topological magnetic materials, two-dimensional magnetic materials and geometry frustrated magnetic materials, and physical devices based on these materials. His research mainly focus on the design and fabrication of these novel materials and devices, and the exploration of their emergent physics.
