Professor Juergen Hennig visits High Magnetic Field Laboratory

Nov 27,2014|By J C QIAN

Invited by Dr. Kai Zhong, Professor Dr. Juergen Hennig of University of Freiburg visited the High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences from November 6th to 12th, 2014.

In the morning of November 10th, 2014, Professor Dr. Juergen Hennig gave a presentation entitled “New Challenges and Solutions of MRI”. He discussed new techniques of MRI in high magnetic field and related progresses in University of Freiburg. Dozens of Audiences from CHMFL related researchers, graduate students attended the lecture. During the discussion, the audiences raised questions on new techniques of enhancing MRI signal to noise ratio.

During the visit, Professor Dr. Juergen Hennig track the status of 9.4T/400mm wide bore animal MRI system and gave all kinds of advice. He also discussed with Dr. Kai Zhong about strengthening cooperations, especially in new techniques development in high magnetic field and hyperpolarization MRI.

Professor Dr. Juergen Hennig is the director of Diagnostic Radiology and Medical Physics, University of Freiburg (Germany), Recipient of Golden medal from the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), and former President of ISMRM. He was an awardee of the Einstein Professor from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) inn 2010. That was the first time that CASHIPS received the “Einstein Professorship” support from CAS since the establishment of the program in 2004. The Einstein Professorship Program is a key initiative of the CAS. Einstein Professorships are awarded each year to 20 distinguished international scientists actively working at the frontiers of science and technology, for conducting lecture-tours to China.
