CHMFL Received Einstein Professorship Support from CAS

  Professor Juergen Hennig from Albert-Ludwig University Freiburg, Germany is among the 20 awardees selected by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for the 2011 “Einstein Professorship” Program. It is sponsored by the High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HMFL) and Hefei Institutes of Physical Science(HIPS).

  

  Prof. Hennig is the scientific director of Department of Radiology, University Hospital, Albert-Ludwig University Freiburg, one of the eight elite Universities in Germany. Prof. Hennig is a leading expert and a pioneer in magnetic resonance imaging. He has developed many state-of-art methods such as fast spin echo imaging, magnetic encephalography, non-linear gradient imaging, etc. Prof. Hennig was the former chairman of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and has received numerous international awards.

  

  The Einstein Professorship Program is a key initiative of the CAS. Einstein Professorships are awarded each year to 20 distinguished international scientists actively working at the frontiers of science and technology, for conducting lecture-tours to China. The goals of the program are to strengthen science and technology links, cooperation and exchange between CAS scientists and the respective Einstein professors and their laboratories, and to enhance the training of future generations of scientists in China.
